Recently I asked you Dtoiders to suggest some good game debate articles to use, and I received plenty of good ideas, many of which you can be sure to see in the near future. The one that caught my interest the most though, was one of the most simple suggestions of all, because it involves more than just a gaming knee-jerk reaction to answer. Dtoider Vyruz asks: How do you position your Xbox 360/Wii/PS3? Horizontal or vertical? We now live in a wireless world, so it’s important to finally debate this to the death once and for all.
The 360 suggests vertical use with its sexy hourglass shape and firm footing, and the Wii even comes with a slot to store it safely in a vertical position without worrying about it knocking over during heated Wii Sports play. The PS3 also tempts you to turn it tall, but its weight suggests your timid instincts might be best for a wide positioning. Many gamers insist vertical is no good for game discs, and the opposing side often yells “noob” in between “rofls.”
I’m sure there’s even game theory involved with what type of gamer you are — perhaps vertical console gamers are the type who are more bold and seldom save, quickly bypassing text and cutscenes. While horizontal console gaming hands prefer a more methodical gaming experience, and always double check missions before setting out on a quest. But enough psychobabble — let’s just hear which of the two you prefer — horizontal or vertical?
