Furina’s Ascension materials in Genshin Impact

Furina finally arrived with Genshin Impact‘s latest update, using Ascension materials introduced in Version 4.2. For those who’ve already recruited the Archon — and are working to gear her — here are all of Furina’s Ascension materials and where to find them.

Furina’s Character Ascension

Water That Failed To Transcend

These are the boss materials dropped by the Hydro Tulpa. It can be found in a cave due west of the Court of Fontaine. The cave entrance is underwater and can be accessed by swimming southwest from the southern teleporter in Annapausis. 

You’ll need 46 of these in total, which will take an average of 18 boss runs or about 720 Resin at World Level 8.

Lakelight Lilies

These strange, blue flowers can be found in the new Forest of Erinnyes region, usually near bodies of water. Some of the lilies do not appear until you finish the Wild Fairy of Erinnyes questline. 

You’ll need 168 Lakelight Lilies in total.

Whopperflower Nectar

If you’ve been playing Genshin Impact for a while, you probably have plenty of these stockpiled already. If not, you can find them everywhere in Teyvat, often masquerading as plain Mints or Sweet Flowers. You can tell when a plant is a Whopperflower by its icon when you pick them. Whopperflowers will have a speech bubble, while actual plants will have their plant icon.

You’ll need a total of 18 Whopperflower Nectar, 30 Shimmering Nectar, and 36 Energy Nectar to fully ascend Furina, more if you plan on leveling her Talents.

Varunada Lazurite

Varunada Lazurites are the deep blue Hydro gems obtained through Commissions and world bosses. Thankfully, the Hydro Tupla drops these, reducing the overall amount of farming you need to do. If you’re short on gems, you can convert gems of a different element using Dust of Azoth, obtained through the Stardust shop.

You’ll need 1 Sliver, 9 Fragments, 9 Chunks, and 6 Gemstones in total.

Furina’s Talent Levels

Justice Books

As the Archon of the nation of justice, Furina uses Justice books to level her Talents. These can be farmed on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. 

You’ll need 9 brown books, 63 silver books, and 114 gold books to get all Talents to level 10. This translates to around 2,480 Resin or 13.8 days of farming at the hardest difficulty.

Whopperflower Nectar

Furina’s Talents need Whopperflower materials, too. Find them using the Adventurer’s Handbook or interactive map.

You’ll need 18 Whopperflower Nectar, 66 Shimmering Nectar, and 93 Energy Nectar to fully level Furina’s Talents. This doesn’t include the materials needed for her character Ascension.

Lightless Masses

These are obtained from the new weekly boss challenge: Shadow of Another World. This domain is unlocked by completing Fontaine’s Archon Quests, but you can also quick-start this challenge through the Adventurer’s Handbook if you haven’t done the quests yet. 

You’ll need 18 Masses in total, and since you can only challenge this boss once a week, that means around 8 weeks of farming at the highest difficulty.
