The development team said that “years of hard work, passion, and dedication” have been poured into the game so far, adding that it is “disheartening” that many of the secrets of the game have been spoiled.

The team revealed that the leaked build will be almost a year old by the time the game officially launches on September 9, 2024. Insider Gaming reports that the leaked build is around 75GB in size, and is dated February 23, 2024. The report also states that it may be possible for those who have obtained the game to play in the multiplayer mode.

“Our unwavering commitment has been to deliver the best possible game for our players. This was the driving force behind our decision to spend more time on development and ensure we deliver the best experience we can”, added Focus Entertainment in their statement.

The team is also pleading with the fans in their statement to avoid this leaked Space Marine 2 version as they said, “We’re asking everyone to avoid this unfinished build and to not spoil the game for those excited to experience it for the first time at launch.”

To conclude, Focus Entertainment reiterates that the best way to support their team’s hard work is to “play the game as they’ve always intended.”
