Crafting is one of the most unused mechanics in Fisch, mostly because you need a really high level to get a good rod. But before that, you’ll have to open the door and reach the crafting anvil, farm the materials, and some other stuff, too! To help you with your crafting endeavors and answer all the questions you might have, we compiled the complete guide to crafting in Fisch. Scroll down, and let’s get started!

How to Craft Rods in Fisch
In order to start crafting rods in Fisch, you’ll first have to open the Ancient Archives, which are located in a cave behind the waterfall on the Ancient Isles. Then, you’ll have to collect the necessary resources and meet the level requirements for the specific rod you want to craft. Here is the breakdown of the process:
How to Enter the Ancient Archives
- Reach the Ancient Isles (6000, 200, 300). Be careful of the dynamite and the spikes that spawn on the way there, as they can destroy your ship.
- Collect the fragments you’ll need to solve the Ancient Archives door puzzle. Their locations are listed just below.
- Enter the cave behind the main waterfall on the Ancient Isles (5875, 165, 420) and interact with the rope to climb down the hole.
- The following part requires at least four players. Place the fragments onto the corresponding pillars.
- All players who participated in fragment placement, pillar rotation, and pressure plate standing will have the Ancient Archives door open for them permanently.
- Four players have to stand on the pressure plates in front of the pillars to activate them.
- Once the pillars are active, interact with them to rotate them. Continue rotating each pillar until the ring of symbols on the circular door with each pillar’s color is lit up (if the purple ring is lit up, you can stop rotating the Ancient Pillar, etc.).
- After the doors are open, make your way across the collapsed bridge to reach the Crafting Anvil.
- Climb the arches and then use a Glider to cross the gaps in the bridge.
- If you fall down from the bridge, hold Jump and get out on the dry land. If you go below the water’s surface, your character will die.
All Ancient Archives Fragment Locations
- Ancient Fragment: You can fish it out at the Ancient Isles with a relatively low chance.
- Deep Sea Fragment: Located at the bottom of the waterfall, close to the Ancient Archives cave (5840, 80, 390).
- Earth Fragment: Located in the same cave where the Eclipse Totem and the Phoenix Rod are (5970, 275, 845).
- Solar Fragment: Spawns at the peak of the Ancient Isle’s biggest mountain during an Eclipse (6070, 440, 680).
- You can use the cable at 6160, 275, 350 to reach the peak quickly.
- The Ancient Archives door can also be only opened during an Eclipse, so it’s best to use the totem, collect the Solar Fragment, and then beeline to the puzzle room.

How to Get All Rod Crafting Resources in Fisch
Crafting recipes in Fisch is really counterintuitive. Right now, it’s easier to get the crafting ingredients for a rod with the level 750 requirement than it is for the ones with no requirement at all. So, to help you out, we compiled a list of all the crafting resources you’ll need and how to get them in the most efficient way:
Resource | How to Get | Needed For Crafting |
---|---|---|
Moonstone | ā¢ The only way to get Gemstones (Moonstone, Lapis Lazuli, Ruby, Amethyst, and Opal) is from Meteors. ā¢ Go to Ancient Isle meteor fall point (5700, 165, 625) and spam Sundial Totems to spawn meteors and loot them. ā¢ You can also spam Meteor Totems, though it’s more cost-effective to do it with Sundials. ā¢ The whole server can loot the Meteor once it falls, making it really worth doing in a group. ā¢ The loot from the Meteor is the same for everyone on the server. | ā¢ Celestial Rod (3x) |
Lapis Lazuli | ā¢ The Lost Rod (3x) | |
Ruby | ā¢ Wisdom Rod (1x) ā¢ Riptide Rod (3x) | |
Amethyst | ā¢ Precision Rod (1x) ā¢ Resourceful Rod (3x) | |
Opal | ā¢ Seasons Rod (2x) ā¢ Voyager Rod (3x) | |
Lunar Driftwood | ā¢ The best method to get it is to appraise regular Driftwood during Mutation Surge. ā¢ Get regular Driftwood by fishing with Crab Cages in freshwater areas (Moosewood Pond, Mushgrove Pond, etc.) ā¢ You can fish the Mythical Driftwood out with the Mythical Rod in areas with very bad loot tables (Moosewood, Mushgrove, etc.) ā¢ Doesn’t get consumed during crafting. | ā¢ Resourceful Rod (2x) |
Frozen Driftwood | ā¢ Seasons Rod (3x) | |
Mythical Driftwood | ā¢ Precision Rod (2x) ā¢ Wisdom Rod (2x) | |
Atlantean Driftwood | ā¢ The only way to get Atlantean Driftwood is to fish it out with the Trident Rod in areas with very bad loot tables (Moosewood, Mushgrove, etc.) ā¢ Doesn’t get consumed during crafting. | ā¢ Riptide Rod (3x) |
Void Wood | ā¢ You can fish out Void Wood at the Keeper’s Altar. | ā¢ Voyager Rod (3x) |
Ancient Wood | ā¢ You can fish out Ancient Wood anywhere in the Sunstone Island area. | ā¢ The Lost Rod (3x) |
Moon Wood | ā¢ You can fish out Moon Wood anywhere in the Snowcap Island area. | ā¢ Celestial Rod (3x) |
Inferno Wood | ā¢ You can fish out Inferno Wood in the Roslit Volcano. | ā¢ Rod of the Eternal King (3x) |
Magic Thread | ā¢ Magic Thread, Ancient Thread, and Lunar Thread can be caught randomly together with another fish. ā¢ Magic Thread is common, Ancient Thread is rare, and Lunar Thread is very rare. ā¢ You can also get them from Treasure Maps with a relatively high chance. | ā¢ Precision Rod (1x) ā¢ Wisdom Rod (1x) ā¢ Resourceful Rod (1x) ā¢ Seasons Rod (1x) ā¢ Riptide Rod (1x) |
Ancient Thread | ā¢ The Lost Rod (1x) ā¢ Celestial Rod (1x) | |
Lunar Thread | ā¢ Rod of the Eternal King (1x) ā¢ Rod of the Forgotten Fang (1x) | |
Golden Sea Pearl | ā¢ You can get a Golden Sea Pearl with a very low chance while catching Clams behind Roslit Bay (-2020, 130, 560). ā¢ Luck and other boosts don’t affect the Golden Sea Pearl drop chance (it’s always 0.16%) | ā¢ Rod of the Eternal King (2x) |
Meg’s Spine | ā¢ Both Meg’s Spine and Meg’s Fang are part of the Ancient Isle bestiary and can be fished out anywhere in that area. ā¢ They have no preferred bait, weather, or anything. | ā¢ Rod of the Forgotten Fang (2x) |
Meg’s Fang | ā¢ Rod of the Forgotten Fang (2x) |
Which Rods are Worth Crafting in Fisch?
In general, the only two rods worth crafting in Fisch are the Rod of the Forgotten Fang and the Rod of the Eternal King. All other craftable rods are borderline irrelevant and outclassed by the rods you can just buy, namely the Trident Rod and the Rod of the Depths.
Of course, if you are a completionist, do try to craft every rod that you can. However, know that the developers might change the recipes in the future, especially those that require extravagant trash items, such as Atlantean Driftwood and Mythical Driftwood.
