First look at The One Piece anime remake released by Netflix

It's looking REALLY good!

THE ONE PIECE, the anime remake of Eiichiro Oda’s popular One Piece, was announced to be in production in December 2023. The announcement came during Jump Festa 2024, where the first teaser visual was revealed.

Further details about the production were unveiled during the second day of One Piece Day ’24, held in Japan. As part of the reveal, a video was shared that toured WIT Studio, the animation studio behind the remake, and featured interviews with its staff.

The video provided fans with an inside look at the studio’s creative process, showcasing concept art, character designs, and pre-production visuals that highlighted the meticulous care and attention to detail being poured into this remake.

Interviews with key members of the production team revealed their deep admiration for Eiichiro Oda’s original work and their excitement about bringing One Piece to life in a new and modern way. The staff discussed the challenges of adapting such a beloved series, emphasizing their commitment to staying true to the spirit of the original while enhancing it with advanced animation techniques and a fresh visual style.

WIT Studio has assembled a star-studded crew for the remake. Masashi Koizuka, the director of Attack on Titan, will be directing the project. The team also includes assistant director Hideaki Abe (Jujutsu Kaisen), Taku Kishimoto (Haikyu!!), Kyoji Asano (Spy x Family), Takatoshi Honda (The First Slam Dunk), Ken Imaizumi (Boruto), and Shuhei Fukuda (Call of the Night).

THE ONE PIECE will be adapting the East Blue Saga. However, no official trailer or release date has been announced yet.
