A fix for the Xbox 360 version of Fight Night Round 4 “Champions Pack 2” DLC won’t be hitting Xbox LIVE Marketplace before Christmas as planned. A recent official message board post penned by EA Sports community manager “sk88z” indicates that a patch won’t become available until this January.
The reason for the delay? According to sk88z, the team has bumped into another issue that needs to be patched as well. Apparently, people are fiddling with boxer stats and gaining some sort of competitive advantage.
“With the community’s help, we have also encountered a major issue around the ability to manipulate boxer stats and use them as an unfair advantage,” sk88z wrote in the message board thread.
“Along with the fix to address the freeze in ‘Champions Pack 2’, we will also be addressing this issue in an upcoming update for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles.”
He adds that anyone caught using “this cheat” could have “their online account banned entirely from EA Sports Online gaming.” So, uh, watch out for that. And watch out for the patch, which should hit within the next month.
