Much of Fields of Mistria’s charm comes from its cozy farm-life sim vibes and 90’s anime aesthetic. While this initially sounds like vibes catering to a niche audience, overwhelmingly positive reviews across the board and its breakthrough into 100,000 total downloads during its first week of Early Access suggest otherwise.
As of August 12, NCP Studio, the team behind Fields of Mistria, revealed on X/Twitter and through an official Steam announcement that the game has officially surprised 100,00 downloads in its first week of Early Access. This push into six-digit download counts, combined with its topping Steam’s Top Sellers charts within its first few launch days, shows a promising start to the game’s release. Fields of Mistria also reached its current all-time player count peak of over 11,000 on August 11, with over 8,000 people still actively playing.
Currently, Fields of Mistria is sitting at over 2,400 overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam at a 98 percent rating, solidifying its position as a beloved game among those who’ve played. Admittedly, I know several people who agree with these sentiments and are playing right now as we speak.
NPC Studio plans to keep Fields of Mistria in Early Access for around one year, with regular content updates planned throughout its development cycle. We can anticipate its full release to launch sometime in August 2025, with its main storyline, character arcs, and other miscellaneous features fully available to experience. It’s currently available for $13.99 or your regional equivalent, with no current plans for a price change following its full release.
