PVP rewards in Final Fantasy XIV are always sought after, and for the most part, they’re time-limited, instilling a sense of fomo. For those who weren’t able to get their hands on the Archfiend Set from series 1, way back in patch 6.1, I have good news — it’s back.
The Archfiend Set was a particularly popular reward from PVP Series 1, which ran at the tail end of 2022. It’s a universal set, so you can wear it on any class, even your crafters and gatherers, if you want to cook dinner while looking like you’re dressed for the battle of a lifetime.

As part of patch 7.2, a few items earned during PVP series of the past have been added as items that can be purchased using Trophy Crystals, earned through playing PVP in the current series:
- Archfiend Armor Set (Series 1)
- Clockwork Crimson Chaser minion (Series 2)
- Clockwork Cerulean Chaser minion (Series 2)
- Fylgjia mount (Series 2)
This is good news for anyone who missed out on level 25 of any of the previous series or those who simply weren’t around at the time but like the look of the items now available. It’s also potentially good news for anyone who missed out on any of the other previous series rewards because this is a good indication that they will eventually become available through other means.

They’re not ludicrously expensive, either, so you’ll be able to earn all of them in a single series if you dive into enough PVP matches or even if you simply take part in your one EXP boosted Frontlines Roulette every day.
Headed into PVP Series 8 with the implementation of patch 7.2, there are now a bunch of new rewards to work towards, and with the update to the Borderlands (Secure) Frontlines map, there are now many reasons to dive back into PVP within Final Fantasy XIV.
