If you’re looking to fly in Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail, you’ll need to complete the Aether Current side quests in each area. One of these in Living Memory is filled with riddles, which may prove problematic if you don’t know where to look.
The quest in question is called ‘Perplexing Puzzles, Endless Fun’ and can be picked up from the Lively Lass in Yesterland (X:31.5, Y:36.2) after completing the level 99 MSQ quest ‘A Knight of Alexandria’.
There are four total clues to figure out, which will take you to various locations in Yesterland before reuniting you with the Lively Lass.
“By yesterday’s gate stands a tiny mountain piled high”
To complete this step, head back to the main entrance of Yesterland and to the north of the entrance you’ll find a Stack of Crates (X:25.4, Y:34.3). Interact with them to collect the next clue.
“Four lamps loom over streets of glass, but only one true light shines on Her Majesty”
This one is really close to where you found the Stack of Crates. All you need to do is head onto the formerly star-covered circle in the center of the entrance square, and find which lamp is closest to the Meso Terminal.
You’ll need to interact with the Western Streetlamp (X:26.5, Y33.9) in order to pick up the next clue.
“Over the river, in sight of the spiral, behind the pointy hat hide the shrubs you seek”
Rather than an actual pointy hat, you’ll need to find the building on the north edge of the Yesterland area with a roof which resembles a Wizard’s hat. At the back of this building, you’ll find a Hidden Bed of Shrubs (X:28.2, Y:27.2). Interact with this to gain your final clue.
“The Princess awaits your return”
Not content with having you find her again, the Lively Lass wants you to remember a password to prove your worth. The password is “I want to be your Canary”, so once you’ve headed to the final location (X:34.8, Y:29.8), provide this password to complete the quest and gain your Aether Current.
