If you’re heading into Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail with the hope of hunting down some elite marks, you are in luck. Many have been added, but there is a minor roadblock standing in your way.
Hunting elite marks is always a thrill, bringing challenging fights against arguably some of the toughest enemies for earlier adventures in any FFXIV expansion. Joining a Hunt Party can help you make new friends, stock up on seals, and earn achievements.
How to unlock the Hunt in Dawntrail
If you’ve checked all the boxes to start older Hunt-related quests, head to Tuliyollal and talk to the Wing of Protection Scout (X:11.8, Y:13.7) to unlock hunts in the Dawntrail expansion. Here, you can pick up a level 90 quest called ‘A New Dawn, a New Hunt’.
All you need to do to complete this quest is speak to Bol Ogaw in Tuliyollal (X:13.8, Y:13.7). This will unlock daily accessible “beginner quests,” which are a selection of B Ranks throughout Dawntrail areas.
FFXIV requirements to unlock The Hunt before Dawntrail
If you want to dive into the Hunt in Dawntrail, you’ll need to have done a few things:
- Reach level 90 on any Disciple of War or Magic Job
- Complete the level 60 side quest ‘Elite and Dangerous’
- Complete the level 90 MSQ quest ‘The Rite of Succession’
How to spend Sacks of Nuts in Dawntrail
Any marks defeated in Dawntrail areas will reward Sacks of Nuts, the same currency we’ve seen in both Shadowbringers and Endwalker previously. Once you’ve hoarded some nuts, or if you already have some saved up like an adventuring squirrel, you can head to Tuliyollal and speak to Ryubool Ja (X:13.9, Y:13.4) in order to exchange them for some unique rewards.
