FFXIV All Saints’ Wake: How to get the Night of Devilry Set

Trick or treat?

Halloween is fast approaching and as always (well, except for 2022 when it was held in January due to delays), FFXIV’s All Saints’ Wake is filling Eorzea with the spooky spirit of the season. This year’s event rewards are particularly nice, and here’s how you can get everything.

The Night of Devilry set is a glamour set comprising five pieces (head, hands, feet, torso, and legs), and it perfectly sums up the season. It’s fully dyeable (yes, even the horns) with two dye slots, so there’s endless possibilities for customization as well.

To begin this year’s event quest, “The Aether-starved Ahriman”, head to Old Gridania and find the Pumpkin-headed Apparition at Mih Khetto’s Amphitheatre (X:10.2, Y:9.4)

They’ll delve into the history of All Saints’ Wake, and express their desire to see the festivities enjoyed by not only the living, but the ghouls as well. Unfortunately, while most of the ghouls and ghosts are happy not to prey on mortals, one is not so willing to give up their spooking ways.

Make your way to the Greatloam Growery and talk to Papa Gruff (X:8.0, Y:8.3) to find out what’s going on. It turns out that Philcox, his single-eyeballed friend, is not very happy with the new method for aether-obtainment, and it’s up to us to change his mind. As he’s run off, you’ll need to search for him.

You’ll be given a pretty substantial area to search, but you can find him pretty easily by heading south from where you were. He’s standing at (X:8.2, Y:10.1).

After talking to him, use the ‘/soothe’ emote to calm down his anger, and he’ll tell you the real reason that he’s unsure about the aether gathering method.

To complete this first quest, head back to Mih Khetto’s Amphitheatre and talk to the Pumpkin-headed Apparition again. You’ll be given a dialogue choice, but both options lead to the same conclusion, so it doesn’t matter which one you choose.

Although Philcox is now fully kitted out in the Night of Devilry set, you’ve still got some work ahead if you want to get it yourself. To begin the second of this year’s event quests, talk to Philcox, and then it’s time to head out in search of some troubled souls to aid. Talk to Philcox again at (X:9.1, Y:8.5) and he’ll begin to accompany you.

You’ll need to talk to a few people to get through this quest, starting with the Flustered Fellow (X:11.4, Y:5.3). He’s been helping a lost little girl find her mother, but she’s disappeared, and he has somewhere he needs to be.

Philcox will take the responsibility on himself, and you’ll then need to find the Distressed Damsel (X:14.3, Y:6.8). Papa Gruff has been trying to work his own magic on her, but she’s too scared to appreciate his attempts.

Philcox will then use his special gift search out anyone in the vicinity who is feeling anxious, and then head out to retrieve the lost girl’s mother. After they return, Philcox will get a confidence boost and set out on his own to help others, while you’re free to return to the Pumpkin-headed Apparition at Mih Khetto’s Amphitheatre.

Talking to her will complete the quest and reward you with the Night of Devilry set, and it will also grant you access to Sneaky Hollow. To get there, talk to the Unusual Usher at (X:10.1, Y:9.2)
