When the new version of the 93+ Icon SBC was released in EA FC 24, Homare Sawa’s 99-rated FUTTIES card was one of the available rewards.
For some unknown reason, several members of the community ended up getting the same item, and EA Sports has disabled the SBC as of this writing. In fact, the developers have also disabled a 91+ Icon SBC, and the reason appears to be the same. This is a curious repetition of something that happened earlier in 2024 during the TOTY promo.
Many EA FC 24 players got a 99-rated FUTTIES Sawa
Finding the 99-rated Homare Sawa item from either the 93+ Icon SBC or the 91+ Icon SBC falls under valid rewards. But this particular item was being obtained too frequently. A take at the replies on this X thread by popular community member ASY Trader perfectly sums up the situation.
Several players posted shots of receiving the 99-rated Homare Sawa card after completing either/both the Icon SBCs. Naturally, it’s a fantastic return for completing the SBC, as Sawa’s FUTTIES card is valued at over 2 million coins on the market.
While I had my suspicions, my luck wasn’t as lovely. I did complete both SBCs and ended up with good cards. Unfortunately, none of them was the Homare Sawa FUTTIES card, which makes sure that the SBC isn’t a guaranteed way of getting Sawa.
That said, it’s almost certain that the frequency of FUTTIES Sawa could be one or the main reason why the 93+ Icon SBC and the 91+ Icon Upgrade SBC have been disabled. According to EA Sports, the developers will investigate both SBCs before they can make a return in Ultimate Team.
For now, the best course of action is to wait. While the 93+ Icon SBC can’t be done for infinite times, the 91+ Icon Upgrade SBC had no limit. You can check out the complete list of all the possible rewards of the SBC. One can hope that EA Sports won’t nerf the pack weight too much so that we can get decent Icons after completing the SBCs (if they return to Ultimate Team in the first place).
