Fallout Classic Collection will be free on Epic Games Store from August 29

Back to the beginning.

If you’re a fan of the Fallout franchise and have ever wanted to go back in time and play the original or its immediate successors, I’ve got good news: Fallout Classic Collection, containing three games in total, will be free on Epic Games Store from August 29.

The three games in question are Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics. These games can be purchased individually through Epic Games Store for $9.99 USD each, so if you want to save nearly $30 USD, then this absolutely is a good deal.

While the first three of the Fallout games don’t exactly stand out for their graphical quality (bear in mind that the first Fallout was released in 1997 and try not to hold it against them too much), the strength of these classics is in their storytelling and world building. The people you meet, the vaults you visit, and the experiences you have, carry through in the lore of Fallout

If you’ve ever even dipped your toe into Fallout lore, you’ll know how deep it goes. There’s an entire timeline, and all of the vaults have unique features and backstories which then go on to be mentioned in future games, so getting to know the world of Fallout right from the very beginning is definitely a good idea.

If you’re looking for something else to add to your collection, you might as well also download the other free game running alongside Fallout Classic Collection from August 29, Wild Card Football

Filled with customization options and rule breaking, Wild Card Football can be played single player, together with friends through couch co-op or online against other players. Usually sold via the Epic Games Store for $29.99 USD, getting it for free is always a bonus.
