Fallout 76 is getting a new update for April, summer plans revealed

They’re continuing the cryptid storyline

It’s been a while since we’ve heard about Fallout 76, but the team is still pushing out updates: including one coming up very soon on April 18. Due out on that date at 10AM ET, the next update is referred to as a “smaller patch,” which addresses bugs and performance issues. New content is actually coming this summer in the form of more cryptid quests and challenges.

The Blue Ridge Caravan returns: and with it, we’re getting two new cryptids, Public Events, Side Quests, Rewards, and a Daily Ops Mutation. The Blue Devil and Ogua are the aforementioned cryptids are entering the fray, and here’s a bit of background on each:

The Blue Devil: “Blue Ridge has renovated the Middle Mountain Cabins to be their latest and greatest Brahmin pitstop, but they just can’t seem to keep the local critters at bay. The Repeller Speaker system they use to repel the creatures and keep their Brahmin safe has been damaged. To retake the pitstop and create a safe haven for their Brahmin to rest, they will need your help! Clear out the creatures, defend the Repeller, and the Blue Ridge Caravan will reward you handsomely for your assistance!”

Ogua: “After a trade deal goes wrong, Luca Costa finds himself in need of some help. A group of local Cultists has stolen his Brahmin and cargo of makeshift explosives. His Uncle Vinny will not be happy if he catches wind of it. Be extra careful not to disturb the local wildlife, however, as Cultists have recently noticed strange rumblings in the woods nearby.”

I’m constantly amazed at how much raw lore the team is building in this game, to the point where I hope we get a full-on revamp one day without all of the live service elements: like a traditional Fallout game. A lot of the reworks have essentially already done this, but I’m talking about a completely non-live-service, no add-on version here.
