Experience Dead by Daylight’s first shapeshifting Killer with the Castlevania chapter

A new kind of fear emerges from The Entity's realm.

Dead by Daylight has received its first-ever shapeshifting Killer in the form of The Dark Lord himself, Dracula. Alongside this three-in-one Killer, the Castlevania Chapter adds an iconic video game hero as a new Survivor, Trevor Belmont, each packing new Perks and Add-Ons to spice up every Trial.

The Castlevania Chapter‘s Killer has three forms for players to master. These are the Vampire Form, the Wolf Form, and the Bat Form. This adds a new dynamic to Dead by Daylight because Survivors can’t craft a loadout to combat the Killer as efficiently as they can others, such as The Trapper. With three potential forms hunting you down, it’s time to run and hide or throw caution to the wind and hope you get to repair a generator before you’re hunted down.

Vampire vs. vampire hunter

In the Vampire Form, The Dark Lord Dracula can cast an attack called Hellfire. This is a line of fire that bursts up from the ground and traverses obstacles. I feel like this attack will be incredibly efficient in hitting Survivors with early injuries as you can with Pyramid Head’s Punishment of the Damned attack.

In Wolf Form, the Killer can easily track Survivors by switching to a third-person perspective with an enhanced view of scratch marks and blood pools. Running Survivors generate Scent Orbs that highlight where they’ve gone and quicken the Killer’s pace if you pick them up and pursue Survivors.

Finally, in Bat Form, Killers have a faster base movement and that important third-person perspective. It produces no Terror Radius, allowing players to move about unseen and unheard, teleporting between Vault locations at will. However, Killers can’t see Survivors in this form, so they’ll need to track scratch marks and transform when they hope they’ve found their prey.

To combat this new Killer, Survivor Trevor Belmont has joined the roster. His Perks are pretty powerful, with Eyes of Belmont revealing the Killer’s Aura when a generator is completed and revealing it for longer every time it’s triggered.

Moment of Glory protects Survivors by switching one injury they might sustain for the Broken status, provided they’ve rummaged through the prerequisite number of chests. After a short time, they’ll then heal an entire health state instead of needing to self-heal or have another Survivor help them out.

Exultation is a mad Perk because it upgrades the rarity of the held item when you pallet stun a Killer. This will also restore a portion of the used-up energy, meaning you can gear the way you play towards having more/better Med-Kits, Toolboxes, or Flashlights and aiding the Survivor team with them.

There is, of course, a new premium cosmetic collection you can pick up with the Chapter if you adore Castlevania-themed costumes. What I’m most excited about is seeing The Dark Lord drink my blood with his incredible Mori because it’s going to take a few Trials before I’ve found the right strategy to work around all of his forms.
