This Apex Legends season began with 23 new variations for Rampartā€™s Katar melee weapon. At the end of each customisation upgrade, there is a premium deathbox design available. These upgrades are available through Exotic Shards. Each set includes five items and costs 10 Exotic Shards per unlock.

Moreover, Exotic Shards are used to purchase customisations for dynamic Mythic weapon skins in Apex Legends. These include the Mystic Coil R-99 skin and the Overheat Flatline skin, and each of these cost 50 Exotic Shards.

How to earn Exotic Shards and rewards

Players can buy Exotic Shards directly from the Apex Legends Store, just like Apex Coins. Moreover, 10 Exotic Shards are also available in the Premium Battle Pass for Season 21. Respawn Entertainment has said that Exotic Shards will be up for grabs in other events and Battle Passes as well.

The Exotic Shards are available as a reward in the Battle Pass and can be collected after reaching level 89 on the Battle Pass. Players can purchase the Premium Battle Pass by spending 950 Apex Coins.

Here are the Exotic Shards purchase options available in the Apex Legends Store:

  • 10 Shards for $9.99
  • 50 Shards for $39.99
  • 110 Shards for $79.99
