Pokémon has been a global phenomenon for almost 30 years now, spawning more than 70 games, a TV animation series with 27 seasons, 24 feature length movies, and an immeasurable amount of merchandise around the globe.
Whether you grew up with the first generation of Pokémon, memorized all 151 Pokémon and begged your parents to take you to the cinema to see Pokémon: The First Movie, or you joined the hype train later and got your introduction to the world of Pokémon movies with I Choose You!, Zoroark – Master of Illusions, or even Detective Pikachu, there’s a movie out there for everyone.
All Pokémon movies in order of release
It’s safe to say that you’ll need to set aside a few hours of time to watch every Pokémon movie out there. They’re available in their native Japanese, as well as with English dubs, so they’re easily accessible even if you find subtitles off-putting. Movies have often been released to coincide with the introduction of new legendary Pokémon.
Here are all of the Pokémon movies in order of release, along with their Japanese name (which more often than not offers more insight into the content of the movie itself), and the run time for each. Don’t worry, I’m not expecting you to whip out a calculator to work out how long a Pokémon movie marathon would take, I’ll add it all together for you when we’re done.

Now, to watch all of these movies in an epic Pokémon marathon, you’d need to set aside a total of 2,224 minutes. In simpler terms, you’ll need a span of 37 hours in which you were planning on doing nothing else, and you’ll be very tired by the end of your viewing experience.
Breaking it down into more manageable chunks may be more palatable for most, but if you’ve got the stones than a marathon might be worth it if you weren’t going to be doing anything anyway and happen to be a Pokémon super fan.
