Alright, so the past two years of E3 have been a little … less than fun. We know. It’s ok though, because the ESA is gearing the event up to be completely different this year, and apparently the response has been positive so far. According to a recent report on Gamasutra, the Expo has sold 90 percent of its available space and boasts over 100 exhibitors so far. Now we’re talking!

Analysts such as Michael Pachter are also pronouncing the changes as acceptable, saying the show is ” a return to the great E3 Expos of the past.” He also predicts great interest from media, publishers and investors. Even EA commented positively, saying that the Expo is “bigger and better” for them (last year EA’s CEO John Riccitiello was one of the vocal critics of the show).

I do know that I’m looking very forward to attending this year, and that all this talk reminds of the sparkle of E3 that I wanted so much to be a part of before I wrote about games for a living. Maybe it really can live up to that and more … what do you think?
