In a branding partnership that’s oh so chef kissy fingers, Epic Games — the company that many PC gamers hate right now — is sponsoring the E3 PC Gaming Show. They can’t escape!

It’s a sensible move for Epic considering it’s trying to make the biggest possible splash in the PC games distribution space. That means being as visible as possible. But man, people are not gonna be happy. Epic says it plans to reveal some new features in upcoming games, along with some Epic Games Store exclusives.

In past years, companies like AMD and Intel were the primary sponsors for the E3 PC Gaming Show. Epic represents a departure in a sense, but not a major one. If nothing else, it might indicate that the show gives even less time to hardware announcements and instead focuses on software.

As of now, these are the presenters who are lined up to take the stage: Annapurna Interactive, Chucklefish, Digital Extremes, Digital Uppercut, E-WIN, Fatshark, Fellow Traveller, Frontier Developments, Funcom, Modus Games, Paradox Interactive, Perfect World Entertainment, Raw Fury, Rebellion, Re-Logic and Tripwire Interactive. More will be announced as we get closer to E3.

The E3 PC Gaming Show will take place on June 10 at 10am Pacific at the Mayan Theater in Los Angeles. It’ll again be hosted by Sean “Day9” Plott. That’s one thing that doesn’t change, even if the PC third-party storefront situation is changing daily.
