Okay, so Sony did it. Killzone 2 looks wonderful. Some words were eaten when Sony rounded out their press conference at the E3 Media & Business Summit with real real-time footage from the game, and while it didn’t totally meet the bar they set in 2005, it came pretty damned close – close enough to almost (almost!) reclaim some of the face that was lost a few years ago during E3. Nods of approval and “good enoughs” have made their rounds, and everyone in the gaming world seems pleased and somewhat positive.
When it comes down to it, the real gauge is going to be actual gameplay. A trailer is one thing, and even though we know that this is finally real-time footage, seeing Killzone 2 in action is what will really tell us the most about this game outside of actually playing it. Now, we have a clip of some gameplay in high-definition, and the quality seems to be on an equal level with the trailer from this year’s event. Feast your eyes on what they’ve been working on for the past couple of years, and never mind the guy with the bad aim towards the end.
