DSFanboy (the shining counterpoint to it’s execrable PSPFanboy sister-site) had a story up today about the above bit of homebrew genius. It seems that some clever hackers from the Netherlands decided that if Apple and Nintendo weren’t going to jump into bed together, they’d have to metaphorically force the unholy union. After hours of toil and a couple tabs of Rohypnol, you have the DSiPodLite.

Not only is the sensation of the click wheel replicated via stylus and audio, but the wheel scrolls through selections at the same rate as an actual iPod! These homebrewers are fantastic geniuses and even if this bit of dark magic will have limited real world use (mostly due to the lack of a built-in hard drive), it’s still more innovative than anything the Insane Clown Posse has ever done.
