Dragon Ball Sparking Zero: How to Teleport

Now you see me (Now you don’t).

The ability to teleport is at the core of the Dragon Ball Sparking Zero experience, as doing so can allow you to avoid beams while preserving your Skill bars, as well as both escape combos and perform killer mixups. To help you do just that, here’s how to teleport in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero.

How to Teleport in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero: How to perform High-Speed Evasions, Rush High-Speed Movements, and more

You can perform a standard defensive teleport (or a High-Speed Evasion) in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero by pressing R1/RB on Standard or O/B on Classic at the moment your opponent’s attack is about to hit you. When on the offense, you can then perform a mid-combo teleport (or a Rush High-Speed Movement) by tilting your right analog stick in any direction and pressing either of the inputs above following a rush strike.

But that’s only the tip of the iceberg, as the game features a few other teleport techniques, with many being focused on countering each other. You can check out how to perform all of them, as well as a recap on how to effectively use both High-Speed Evasion and Rush High-Speed Movement in combat below.

TechniqueHow to Perform What it DoesCost
High-Speed EvasionBy pressing R1/RB (Standard) or O/B (Classic) at the moment you are about to be hit. Allows you to escape combos and avoid beams by teleporting. No cost

Rush High-Speed ReturnBy pressing R1/RB (on Standard) or O/B (on Classic) immediately after an opponent uses Rush High-Speed MovementAllows you to counter your opponent by teleporting behind them.1/5 of a Ki bar
Z-CounterBy pressing R1/RB (on Standard) or O/B (on Classic) at the moment you are about to be hit by a follow-up attack or Z-Counter.Allows you to teleport behind your opponent before performing a Smash Attack.1/5 of a Ki bar
Vanishing AssaultBy pressing ◻+X/X+A on both Standard and Classic. At Close Range: Allows you to teleport behind your target and perform a Smash Attack.
At Mid Distance: Your character will close in and perform a rush strike.
At Long-Range: You will only teleport a few meters forward.

Vanishing AttackBy pressing △/Y
after knocking an opponent back with a Vanishing Assault.
Allows you to perform a vanishing follow-up attackNo cost

To add to the above, characters with the Wild Sense and Afterimage Strike skills can activate them to perform either one or an unlimited number of automatic High-Speed Evasions within a time limit. But be careful, as the evasions triggered by the skills won’t work against beams. Similarly, characters with the Instant Transmission Skill can use it to immediately teleport behind an opponent, no matter how far they are.

If you plan on using Rush High-Speed techniques in battle, I also recommend checking out your character’s move list beforehand, as not all of them will be able to use it. For example, while Videl has access to Afterimage Strike, she cannot perform both Rush High-Speed Return and Rush High-Speed Movement.
