A Quiet Place: Day One has hit theaters, bringing us back to the day the sound-sensitive “Death Angels” arrived on Earth. Like many A Quiet Place fans, I walked into the theater with questions, the foremost of which was whether A Quiet Place: Day One would have a post-credits scene.
Do you need to wait for a post-credits scene?
I’m here to tell you that A Quiet Place: Day One does not have a post-credit scene. You don’t need to worry about missing a jaw-dropping reveal if you donāt want to sit through the credits. I always try to go through a movie’s credits to show my support to the cast and crew who worked to bring it to life, but I understand that sometimes you don’t have the time to do that.
A Quiet Place: Day One’s lack of a post-credits scene continues a franchise trend
While I was slightly disappointed when the credits rolled to their conclusion with no interruption, I wasn’t surprised. Neither A Quiet Place nor A Quiet Place: Part II had post-credits scenes, so I wasn’t expecting A Quiet Place: Day One to have one. It would be weird if a franchise that’s never had post-credits scenes before suddenly started incorporating them on its third go-around.
If anything, A Quiet Place: Day One‘s lack of a post-credits scene highlights the strength of the film’s story. The film’s plot, which follows Lupita Nyong’o’s Sam and Joseph Quinn’s Eric as they fight to survive “Day One” of the Death Angel’s invasion, is a terrifying and touching tale that explores the Quiet Place franchise’s overarching themes of human connection and self-sacrifice very well. Including a post-credits scene that nods to the two previous films would cheapen its effect.
Fans who might have been hoping to catch a glimpse of the Abbot family during A Quiet Place: Day One‘s credits shouldn’t get too bummed out. Paramount officially confirmed that A Quiet Place: Part III is already in development, so fans will see the series continue from where A Quiet Place: Part II left off.
