Can you disguise three aspects in a trench coat?
Once you get deep into Diablo 4, optimization becomes crucial. While your build is more than half the battle, stacking synergistic Aspects winds up becoming just as important. Some builds can’t even work without the proper Aspects to help them out!
Because of this, you may wonder if you can just stack the same Aspect over and over in Diablo 4. After all, once you find the best possible perk for your build, why wouldn’t you just want to keep making it more powerful? Unfortunately, if you were planning on this approach, I have some bad news for you.
Aspects do not stack in Diablo 4
If you equip two pieces of gear in Diablo 4 that feature the same Aspect or perk, you’ll notice a crucial detail. On one of those slots, the text for the Aspect description will be greyed out. This indicates it won’t take effect. The gear may feature nice stats otherwise, but that part of it won’t do you any good.
For this reason, you’ll want to find a diversity of Aspects that synergize well with each other instead. For example, a Barbarian wanting to increase the efficacy of their Leap ability can combine the Veteran Brawler’s Offensive Aspect with the Aspect of Perpetual Stomping to boost its power and reset its cooldown. Finding combos like these is key to optimization, so don’t give up hope just because you can’t stack Aspects together.
Diablo 4 will evolve over time as a live service game, so keep your eyes peeled for new Aspects and builds that can amplify your power level!
