Disney Dreamlight Valley: The Fallen Fortress quest guide

We're now a knight in shining armor... almost.

During The Storybook Valeā€™s main questline in Disney Dreamlight Valley, youā€™ll eventually farm enough Story Magic to unlock The Fallen Fortress. Doing this immediately begins a quest by the same name, where youā€™ll discover another Fairy Tale Trial and get one step closer to meeting Maleficent.

The Fallen Fortress quest walkthrough

After stepping into The Fallen Fortress biome for the first time, you might notice the ruins on the western side of the map. Upon closer inspection, youā€™ll see a drawbridge with no obvious way to lower it. Reading the nearby inscription reveals that we must prove ourselves as a knight before entering.

Although Disney Dreamlight Valleyā€™s protagonist isnā€™t exactly known for being a knight, that doesnā€™t mean we donā€™t have the potential to become one. In the meantime, though, weā€™ll have to consult with Flynn on the next steps to take.

Despite Flynn not having formal experience as a knight, he opens up about wanting to become one when he was a kid. Heā€™s familiar with stories involving knights and suggests acquiring a suit of armor. Heā€™ll give you a drawing for you to examine, which inspires you to get the following items for the suit:

  • Iron Ingot (5)
  • White Rose (3)
  • Opal (2)
  • Star Sapphire (2)

Iron Ingots are the easiest to come by, as theyā€™re available in Disney Dreamlight Valleyā€™s base game and both expansion packs. Opals spawn in The Bindā€™s mining spots, while Star Sapphires appear anywhere in Everafter.

You may already be familiar with White Roses, as they spawn in the Fallen Fortress and Wild Woods. If you donā€™t have three yet, you may have to wait a bit for more to spawn before searching around and harvesting some.

Once you have each material, head to your crafting bench, navigate to Functional Items, and create the Fairytale Armor set. Flynnā€™s very impressed with the armor set but remarks that you need more to lower the bridge.

He suggests finding a squire but isnā€™t exactly keen on being one himself. After some persuading, he agrees to take on the role of entering the fortress. Before the two of you can officially join, youā€™ll need to tame one of the baby dragons in Everafter. The dragon taming is optional, but itā€™s surprisingly easy if you have some spare gems and a bit of free time.

Each baby dragon has a specific location and time of day they spawn, as depicted in the table below:

DragonLocationTimes
Blue Baby DragonThe Wild WoodsAny Time (Tuesday to Friday)
Green Baby DragonThe Fallen Fortress10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Sunday to Thursday)
Purple Baby DragonThe Beanstalk Marshes12 a.m. ā€“ 12 p.m. daily
Red Baby DragonTeapot FallsAny Time (Saturday to Monday)

Your best bet is to find a blue or green baby dragon for this particular optional task. Although they like any gem, magma or pure ice is their favorite food. Give them a gem or one of their favorites to quickly knock out this task.

Once youā€™re ready, equip your armour suit and hang out with Flynn before approaching the bridge. Interact with the pulley to lower the bridge, allowing you to enter the fortress and activate the Fairy Tale Trial gate. Doing this automatically completes the Fallen Fortress quest and immediately leads to the Knights of the Round Table mission.
