Diablo 4 quietly adds some much-needed new cosmetic dyes

Dye, dye, dye.

Although Diablo 4’s update cadence has been impressive (even by Blizzard’s standards), addition to the game’s cosmetic dyes have been mysteriously absent from even the premium battle pass. That is, until yesterday, when players were surprised with four sneakily-added new color sets, igniting hope that we’ll see further expansions to our chromatic capabilities in the future.

Although absent from the patch notes entirely, you too can bask in the glory of these revolutionarily mixed hue dyes right now from the game’s Wardrobe. Take a look at each below:

They’re… fine. They’re fine! I’m actually really partial to the “Bone” coloration. But they’re also a bit random. Maybe they’re somehow related to Vessel of Hatred’s theme and I’m just not enough of a connoisseur to see how. What I do know is that if we got these four, we’re definitely going to be getting more. Add in the fact that they were included as part of a free update and not a premium purchase and I’m a happy Wanderer.

With the Gamescom showcase giving us new details on Vessel of Hatred, including upcoming co-op, “raid” style content in the form of the Dark Citadel, Diablo 4 is primed to enter the next phase of its live-service existence. The community is being heard more than ever (a trend Blizzard’s other games are also enjoying) and endgame is looking stronger than ever. That’s all to say: updates, content, and quality of life are nice and all, but please, give me some more armor colors, too.
