Welcome to the first installment of a new weekly feature that came to me in a fever-dream the other night. One moment I’m in the loving embrace of an anthropomorphic clown fish, and the next Shannon Hoon is telling me that it’s my destiny to write a weekly article on what the people behind Destructoid are playing that week.Far be it from me to turn down the genius that gave us the Bumblebee Girl!Hit the jump for a full rundown of games that are possibly turning us into killers. As an introduction to this new feature, we asked each of the editors in today’s edition to tell us about what kinds of games they most prefer and then to tell us about which games they’ve been playing this week. Next week it may change, but no matter what we decide, feel free to picture us naked. It will probably help you get through the day.backflip10019: Usually, I’m pretty open to any and all types of games, but with my recent purchase of an Xbox 360, I’ve really been getting into more mature games. I just finished up Saint’s Row and am now currently playing Dead Rising and Kameo until Emergence Day on the 12th.Sheir: There’s this really popular game out that I’ve been playing lately; It’s called The Waiting Game. Final Fantasy XII comes out on the 31st, so I am sitting here twiddling my thumbs until then. Occasionally I play a game of Super Smash Bros. Melee or Big Brain Academy, though.Grim: Mature games are slowly consuming me as well. I’m trying to finish Saint’s Row, but I keep getting sidetracked by the online mode. So, if you see someone in the Dtoid gang, it’s the real deal. Other than that I’ve been playing Resident Evil 4 in preparation for Gears of War.DickMcVengeance: I’m in the middle of playing God Hand. Oh, how I love this game. The action is so worthwhile, and I think they must’ve just told the localization team “go have fun with it.” There’s a mini boss called “Giant Enemy Crane”, a chihuahua named “Massive Damage”, and they even had dialogue like “What did the five fingers say to the face?”. I’m also playing Trauma Center on and off, with me being in Ch. 2 part 4 right now.Nex: I’m into all kinds of games, with an emphasis on long-term, soul sucking MMO’s and console fighting games. I’m still playing World Of Warcraft, and I will be until they pry it from my cold dead hands. I’m also splitting my console time between the zombie-riffic Dead Rising, Phoenix Wright on my DS and being demoralized by young Japanese children in Tetris DS‘ Wifi multiplayer.Orcist: I’m currently playing Final Fantasy. It’s a slow process, and I’m not getting as much quality time as I wanted. To boot, I probably picked the worst the party ever. In any case, I’m just killing time until I get back home to my PS2 (long story, don’t ask.).CyberneticTigerZ: I’m gonna go watch my friends play Final Fantasy XII later. They just bought a copy from me at work. HAHA, we got it in early! As far as what I’m playing right now, Trauma Center. I’m stuck on the spleen level. All in all it’s a good game. I’m picking up God of War again, such a great game. I also started to play my copy of Super Mario Bros 3 for the GBA so I can max out the high score, but I saw I was only at 200,000 points so I said fuck that and went to the forums to curse out Fronz. As far as what I like to play, anything except RPGs and sports games. Mainly the gore fest action adventure games like Resident Evil 4, God of War, Halflife 2, Halo 2, and I’m waiting on Gears of War.Fronz: Finally got my Xbox 360 fixed and went to pick up Saint’s Row but Wal-mart was sold out, so I happily picked up Bully instead. I’ve only played it for a night (I just got past Halloween) but so far I’m thinking Jack Thompson is a complete fool. The game’s a lot better than I expected, although I think fucktards like 1UP.com shouldn’t be giving anywhere near a 10/10 – the camera can be a bitch sometimes, but it’s worth it for some quality gameplay. I love the Text Twist English classes, and the cool art class mini game too. So far it’s definitely worth the $39.99, but then again, so is CTZ’s mom…..Gregor: At the moment, I’m actually playing Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis, despite it’s ridiculously long name rivaling Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth 2, Return of the Witch King, it’s a pretty enjoyable surprise of a game. It was a gift and I shunned it off sort of, kind of like when you get some really bum game for a Christmas present from Aunt Michelle. The premise of the game is Lemmings style gameplay, clicking Marios to make them move in one direction, reversing them, and directing them towards a goal all while avoiding enemies. In the mean time however, I’m waiting for the Wii, particularly Twilight Princess and Trauma Center: Second Opinion, Gears of War, and Guitar Hero II. I should however work on that one thing needed for those, what’s the word? Oh yeah, money.Robert Summa: I’m playing a shitload of games cause I’m better than all of you and receive all my games for review (and this time of year I get an avalanche of ’em). Here’s a rundown of what I am playing this week: Death Jr. 2, F.E.A.R., Splinter Cell Double Agent (duh), Bully, Justice League Heroes, Children of Mana, Scarface and … probably Guitar Hero 2 and Gears of War (both of which are due to arrive in my office this week. If they don’t, I’m tracking down Nex for a mercy killing). Also, I’ve been going back to the Halo well. After reading “Ghosts of Onyx” and packing a healthy Halo 3 hard-on over the recent news, I’ve decided to revist my beloved series. What are you guys playing this week? Let us know in the comments.

I'm Nex.
I used to work here but my love of cash led me to take a gig with Wired.
I still keep an eye on the 'toid, but to see what I'm really up to, you should either hit up my Vox or go have a look at the Wired media empire.
