Ladies and gentlemen (mostly gentlemen because girls don’t read the Internet), I welcome you to our inaugural Destructoid Top Ten! This is where you, the cherished community member, helps to decide which games, systems, characters and hairstyles should be categorized and contextualized via arbitrary numerical placement on a list generated by pure circumstance.

Go here to read about what Dtoid Top Ten is all about. For the short story, we’re basically asking you have input on a range of top ten lists, generating a list that reflects the Destructoid community’s most  earnest beliefs. Or something like that. For this first installment, we’re starting big. It’s time to name the top ten NES games of all time.

What we need you to do is post your own personal top five NES games. We don’t want discussion, justification for your picks, or anything else. All that will come when we sort through the picks and make the final top ten post. For this post, just list your top five NES games in any order. That is all you need to do. Nominations are open to anybody with a Destructoid account (including other editors, so represent!). If you can comment, you can pick. Even if we don’t like you!

Voting will last for a week, so you have until this time next Saturday to name your games. That’s really all I have to say about it. So … get to it!
