Destiny 2: Where in the EDZ is Archie?

This wasn't the European vacation I had hoped for.

It would appear the Tower didn’t take my advice about a leash law the last time this happened. As such, players shouldn’t be shocked when logging into Destiny 2 and finding our collective dog, Archie, has flown the coop once more. Keeping his journies isolated to Earth so far, we’re headed to the EDZ (European Dead Zone) to find him.

Where to find Archie in the EDZ

1. Investigate the paw prints

Visiting the Tower’s Annex reveals Archie has left his usual spot once again. As is now tradition, speak with Ada-1 to accept the quest proper. This time, our pooch is in the EDZ. Let’s fire up the engines and bop across the Atlantic to retrieve him.

2. Devrim Kay

Speaking with Devrim Kay inside his cathedral home reveals Archie was there and searching for some glowing birds by a fireplace. Also, he may have stolen Devrim’s mug.

Glowing birds and a fireplace reference one of the introductory quests for Crow and the Hawkmoon hand cannon. The fireplace we’re after is on the second floor of the building where Cabal and Fallen forces are continually spawning. It’s the one with the missing facade. Scanning the paw prints here reveals the robo-pup has taken an interest in fishing.

3. Fishing in the EDZ

Take your sparrow to the EDZ fishing spot to find another set of tracks. It appears that Archie has begun appreciating the majesty of fishing mini-games. Sadly, there’s no time to indulge. The next clue involves “tanks and space rhinos.”

Archie was headed to the large ship known for holding tanks in the Sunken Isles. Thanks to running “The Arms Dealer” strike an obnoxious number of times, we know exactly where this is. Sure enough, checking the ramp leading into the Cabal ship reveals another set of prints.

5. The Shard

The previous prints indicate Archie is headed to where the Guardian reclaimed the light. Before it and a good chunk of the game were locked away in the Destiny Content Vault, players were able to experience the base campaign’s Red War story. After losing their light, the Guardian was able to reclaim it from a shard of the Traveler which had landed in the EDZ.

The shard is in the Dark Forest, which is accessible via The Sludge. After loading in, go straight until you see a Cabal patrol and take a right. There will be a waterfall and a narrow path. Follow it until you find a Cabal jammer. Disable it to free the Taken rift and jump in.

The next few areas require you to clear out the warring Cabal and Taken forces, disable more jammers, and jump into the Taken rifts they were blocking. Upon reaching the Shard, you’ll see Archie behind a shield and surrounded by a Cabal squadron.

You’ll need to clear out the minions and damage the boss until it throws up a shield. To disable the shield, go to each of the jammers, defeat the Psion guarding it, and disable it. With that out of the way, the boss will become vulnerable once more. Show them the error of their ways and offer Archie some pawsitive reinforcement.

Return to Ada-1

With Archie returning to the Tower, it’s time to check in with Ada-1. She reveals that Archie snagged Devrim’s mug and offers it to you. Devrim doesn’t seem to have many earthly possessions and now he has one fewer because my Guardian has a hoarding problem.
