Destiny 2 Escape Velocity god roll – Best perks and attachments

Sometimes, you can teach an old dog new tricks.

When it comes to the weapon sandbox of Destiny 2, the focus tends to be on the big and bright new weapons. More recently, some of the weapons from the Solstice event have taken the spotlight thanks to some refreshed perks that can make interesting combos.

However, that doesn’t mean we should forget about some of the classics. This even includes a weapon you can get from a surprisingly common source. Here are the best perks and attachments for the Escape Velocity submachine gun in Destiny 2.

The best perks and attachments for the Escape Velocity in Destiny 2

The Escape Velocity’s Lightweight Frame is an interesting archetype since it isn’t the sort of thing you can play off. The benefit is great with superior handling and increased movement speed, but those are just nice bonuses and nothing more. That’s liberating in a sense, as it lets us pick some great options that are good in general rather than specifically aiding the archetype. The following choices do just that:

  • Scope: Model 8 Red
  • Magazine: Accurized Rounds
  • Perk 1: Overflow
  • Perk 2: Osmosis

The Model 8 Red scope is great on its own but provides excellent range, so damage falloff isn’t as much of an issue. Accurized Rounds ups that even further, though not quite as much as the Model 8 Red. Overflow is a great mod in general, providing more bullets whenever snagging a Special or Heavy ammo brick. Finally, we have Osmosis, which lets you throw a grenade once you’re low on ammo to refill the magazine a bit.

Another good option for the Perk 2 slot is Surrounded since you’ll be using this for ad clear mostly. If you do use it, however, it’s advised you swap out the Scope and Magazine for something else. You’ll want to consistently be near enemies, so range doesn’t do too much for you.

How to get the Escape Velocity in Destiny 2

The Escape Velocity in Destiny 2 is available as a random reward from Legendary Engrams. These come in quite commonly, so you should have no issue farming them. Just bear in mind that if you have ten Engrams already, the remaining Engrams will head to your Postmaster to be claimed whenever you wish. Once you have some Engrams, spend them at Master Rahool in the Tower and hope for the best.

You can also get the Escape Velocity as part of vendor rank-up packages. As you level the Cryptarch and Gunsmith, there’s a chance you’ll be given the Escape Velocity as a reward. With any luck, it’ll be sporting the right perks and attachments.
