This announcement was made on the same day as the final episode of the Hashira Training arc was aired. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle adapts the final arc of the manga, and while no release date has been confirmed yet for the trilogy, one can’t be far off given just how popular the manga and anime series are. With over 150 million copies of the manga in circulation, there are bound to be some big expectations for this movie trilogy finale.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba finally ends

Crunchyroll president Rahul Purini said, “Demon Slayer has been a phenomenal franchise, and we at Crunchyroll are delighted to have been a part of it from the beginning. Crunchyroll is thrilled to be able to bring this trilogy of films to fans, on the big screen, and it promises to be one of the truly epic and consequential pop cultural events of our time when it hits theaters.”

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba premiered in April 2019. It is based on the manga of the same name, which has been running since 2016. The manga is published by SHUEISHA’s JUMP COMICS and consists of 23 volumes. The series is directed by Haruo Sotozaki at studio ufotable, with music by Go Shiina and Yuki Kajiura, and Akira Matsushima as chief animation director and character designer.

The latest movies, -To the Swordsmith Village-, Mugen Train, and -To the Hashira Training-, all released to critical and commercial acclaim. In fact, Mugen Train boasts the record for the highest-grossing anime of all time and the highest-grossing Japanese film at the box office. The movie has generated $500 million to date and is the second highest-grossing anime film in US box office history.

While the trailer doesn’t show off all that much in terms of clips from the movies and our characters in action, you probably know what’s coming in this final story arc if you’re all caught up with the manga. If you’ve never heard of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, though, now is a great time to pick up the books and start watching the anime so everything can be fresh in your mind when you book your tickets to see each film.
