Dead by Daylight developer Behaviour Interactive revealed that the iconic Lara Croft would be the game’s next Survivor. She’s currently live for PC players to try out in the game’s (Public Test Build) PTB, but fans are already coming up with unique builds for her Perks ahead of her July 16, 2024, release date.
Fans have been discussing the Lara Croft Chapter for Dead by Daylight on the game’s subreddit. While some conversation has arisen regarding her legitimacy as a horror movie and game character, most players are interested in her Perks. They’re not incredibly powerful, but they can be paired with other Perks already in the game to craft builds that could be hugely advantageous to Survivors once her Chapter has been released.
The ultimate Survivor gets better with a little drama
Dissecting the new Perks characters added to Dead by Daylight is half the fun of creating a fantastic build for your favorite Survivors and Killers. The Perks Lara Croft adds are as follows. Note that these are subject to change ever so slightly once we hit the full release.
- Finesse: Vaults are 20% faster. Activates while healthy and goes on cooldown after usage.
- Hardened: Anytime you would scream, reveal the Killer’s aura for 3/4/5 seconds instead. Activates after unlocking a chest or cleansing/blessing a Totem.
- Specialist: Gain 1 token every time you rummage through a chest up to 3. Consume all tokens when you perform a great skill check on a generator. This reduces the maximum required generator progress by 2/4/5 seconds.
On the Dead by Daylight subreddit, players have already decided which Perks will work best with these. User The Box said, “The last one will be really broken with Scene Partner.” To which user rVev replied, “I literally thought of scene partner myself when I read that perk lol. Also, you could pair that with Nic’s Dramaturgy too.”
Both of the suggested Perks are Nicholas Cage’s. I have to agree that they’d work incredibly well because Dramaturgy has a chance to give you an item or make you scream, which in this case would reveal the Killer when paired with Lara Croft’s Hardened. Scene Partner, another of Cage’s Perks, causes you to scream when you look in the Killer’s direction, meaning you can effectively track the Killer without them knowing if used with Hardened.
I think the best combination would actually be Hardened, Scene Partner, Specialist, and Invocation: Weaving Spiders. The Invocation Perk lowers the progress required for all generators, which you can then lower further by earning Tokens and hitting great skill checks with Specialist. Hardened and Scene Partner would give you the Killer tracking ability no Survivors ever have, so you’d be all set for a successful Trial.
Of course, this loadout just works for the way I play. You’ll need a completely different build if you want to get up close and unhook other Survivors. I think that it’s brilliant that this community can already be working these builds out because it shows an in-depth knowledge of the Perk system among hardcore and casual players alike.
