Dead by Daylight 2v8 mode returns next month

The beloved Dead by Daylight 2v8 mode is returning once again from November 12 to November 26. It will be limited time once again, but there will be some big changes from its original incarnation established by the development team.

The Dead by Daylight 2v8 chaos returns

All survivors will be playable, and more killers will be added to the roster of this engaging mode. It has been confirmed that The Blight, The Spirit, and The Deathslinger will join the chaos starting November 12. Realms of Yamaoka Estate and Grave of Glendale have also been adapted to the 2v8 format, in addition to “several other new maps for the mode’s existing realms,” according to the press release.

To help the balancing of the mode and give survivors more of a chance, they’ll gain Active Abilities, in addition to Unlock Abilities. These can help you raise broken pallets, boost the speed of repairing to teammates, and even recover someone from the Dying State and let someone “pick themselves up off the ground as many times as needed.” Unlock Abilities gives perks to your characters, dependent on the classes they choose.

Killers can also choose their favorite class as well in this returning Dead by Daylight 2v8 mode. The Shadow blocks escapes and helps you sneak up on Survivors. Brutes plow through their environment and become an “unstoppable force during chases,” according to the press release. Enforcers are specifically great at taking out injured Survivors. Lastly, Fearmongers are focused on movement and stay unseen on the map.

Behaviour Interactive doesn’t want to wait

“Part of the reason weā€™re putting out this second iteration on this timeline is that we just really want to get this back in playersā€™ hands,” said Dead by Daylight product director Justin Brown. “We donā€™t want people to have to wait 6 months to play again, and on our end, we donā€™t want to wait another 6 months for more feedback.” Brown also says that the team is “hoping to keep this same approach moving forward.ā€

Dead by Daylight publisher and developer Behaviour Interactive seems to be on a roll lately. It has recently purchased the Darkest Dungeon developer Red Hook Studios and touts that Dead by Daylight has up to two million players logging in any given day with a player base of around 60 million people.
