Standard Collector’s Edition available, too
Much like Darksiders III had a stupidly expensive collector’s edition, Darksiders Genesis is set to receive the same thing. Limited to 5,000 units, the $380 “Nephilim Edition” of Genesis contains a bunch of goods and a separate game for those really into the Darksiders series. Unlike last time, this isn’t a complete compendium of the series, but more a way to get supplemental stuff for the upcoming dungeon crawler.
Those that opt to drop near $400 will receive Genesis (go figure), the Darksiders: The Forbidden Land board game, a figurine of Strife, steelbook packaging for the game, an art book, the official OST, a sticker sheet, and a large box to house everything in. This will be available for each platform (PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch) and can be pre-ordered from the official Darksiders website right now.
If you’d prefer to not destroy your wallet while still showing some love for Darksiders, a regular “Collector’s Edition” of Genesis is also available for purchase. Going for $110 on PC and $120 on consoles, this smaller edition comes with basically the same stuff as the Nephilim version, just without the board game or large box. That’s certainly a more palatable option. There’s no limit on the units for this edition and it will also be available for each platform.
I’m not sure I’d drop that much cash on any game, but I can’t blame someone in love with the series for wanting to support it. Darksiders III may have only been okay, but there is a lot of potential left untapped with the Darksiders brand. If something like Genesis helps get the conclusion we’ve been waiting almost a decade for, then I’m all for it.
