No moreĀ 2077Ā tune-ups this year
CD Projekt Red has been fixing and patchingĀ Cyberpunk 2077Ā since its launch, polishing the futuristic RPG with steady updates. Today, the publisher confirmed that it’s pushing any and all new updates out into the new year.
An updated version of itsĀ Cyberpunk 2077Ā updates roadmap went up on CD Projekt’s site. And as people have noticed, it’s pushed its forthcoming updates into the next year, alongside its next-gen versions that also got delayed into 2022.
As you can see in the new, updated roadmap,Ā Cyberpunk 2077 has its last update for 2021 marked as Patch 1.31. That patch went live in September, following the 1.3 update that brought some much-needed fixes and free DLC.
Any furtherĀ Cyberpunk 2077Ā content will have to wait until 2022. Which, considering how much of 2021 we have left, isn’t too surprising. This has been the time for game companies with ambiguous 2021 dates to start announcing their new windows.
And withĀ Cyberpunk 2077, hopefully, more time is better. Maybe this is just because I’ve been working my way through the Action Button review ofĀ Cyberpunk 2077, but I’ve got a reignited curiosity about what this game is. Or rather, what it’s become in the span of almost a year at this point, with continuous patching and polishing.
Maybe in 2022, we’ll start to see some shades of whatĀ Cyberpunk 2077Ā can be, or at least be polished into. And a next-gen version of the game will probably refresh public interest too, alongsideĀ The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt‘s next-gen version. We’ll just have to wait and see.
