Crash and co. fend off Team Marvel

In what is proving to be a fairly uneventful summer, several titles new and old continue to jostle for position within the UK retail charts. This week sees the return of Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled to the number one spot in the charts, fending off the debut of Nintendo’s Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order, which was forced to settle for second place.

In tried and true “dunno what to buy” fashion, perennial mainstays FIFA 19 and Red Dead Redemption 2 crawled back up into the Top Five. But the most surprising comebacks fall to Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Marvel’s Spider-Man, with both titles leaping back into the Top Ten from numbers 30 and 21 respectively.

In fact, a plethora of older titles made re-entry in the Top 40 this week, including The Last of Us, Minecraft Xbox, Battlefield V and Tekken 7, no doubt scooped up in online summer sale offers. While we may be a little starved for releases right now, clearly the people are keeping occupied. It looks like Wolfenstein: Youngblood is going to be able to just saunter right into the number one spot next week.
