These roaches don’t seem very rad
Don’t bug out with today’s contest for a Blu-ray copy of Arrow Video’s Terra Formars.
You guys know me well enough to know I don’t know shit about anime, or manga, or any of that stuff. It’s just not my bag. That said, I do like batshit insane stories though. So when I saw Takashi Miike directed a film based on a manga where giant cockroaches roam Mars carrying weapons and shit, I knew I had to get in on it.
And that means you get to get in on it, too, by winning a Blu-ray copy of Terra Formars!
Ok I’m going to do my best to explain to you what the hell is going on, here. So Earth sucks, yeah? It’s overcrowded and we need to GTFO because there’s like nothing left. So we sent some roaches and mold to Mars in hopes of beginning the process of colonization and adapting the planet to human life. After all, if a bunch of roaches knock off and die, at least it was like the grossest thing on Earth. So anyway, Earth sends a bunch of people to Mars a few years later to be like, “Yo waddup roaches.” But, we get there, and the roaches have evolved into giant, bipedal, weapon-wielding mutants or something.
So of course, we try to fight the mutated roaches, but dude! Shit! They’re too strong and fast and smart and stuff! Then some text in Japanese happens that I don’t understand, but anyway the humans get bug powers, too. How that happens is unclear, but it wouldn’t qualify for our It Came From Japan! tag if it wasn’t weird or wacky in some way. So the bug-humans fight the human-bugs, and yep this sounds like a Takashi Miike kind of joint.
Ok, that’s my synopsis. Please hold your applause until the end of the presentation.
To enter to win your copy, comment below telling us how we humans acquired bug powers on Mars. If you actually know the answer, you can spoil it for us, if you’d like. I’d prefer you try to dupe us, though! Throw us off our game. After all, It Came From Japan!, so pretty much anything you say could feasibly have happened in this movie. I’d believe pretty much anything at this point.
We have two Blu-ray copies to give away. You must have a United States shipping address in order to win. Winners will be drawn on Monday, April 15. Make sure to comment using a Dtoid account with your current email address on file. New users can sign up here to trick me into understanding the plot of this very strange movie!
Arrow Video’s Terra Formars is available now from our friends at MVD Entertainment. Head over to Flixist for more chances to win.
