Brighter Shores Mine of Mantuban Map and Key Locations

As you complete Hopeforest‘s Main Story quest you’ll unlock the third area in Brighter Shores, the Mine of Mantuban. Unlike the first two zones which are accessible to all players including those who are on Free-to-Play accounts, the Mine of Mantuban is the first zone that requires users to have a Premium Pass subscription to access the zone.

While Mine of Mantuban is the smallest zone of the four currently in Brighter Shores, it has a bit of tedium to navigate due to an underground river that runs through the center of the mine, meaning you have to loop around to access the top half of some maps, or head around and under to access the bottom half.

Mine of Mantuban Teleport Locations

There are two Portal Stones in Mine of Mantuban, with one accessible right from the start and the other accessible after unlocking the Bronze Gate area while working through the Mantuban’s Legacy quest. Here are the two Portal Stones in Mine of Mantuban in Brighter Shores:

  • Mine Southwest Portal Stone Located in the far west of Mine of Mantuban, accessible immediately after entering the area for the first time.
  • Mine Deep Portal Stone – The second portal stone can be found in the far northeast of Mine of Mantuban, accessible halfway through the Mantuban’s Legacy quest after unlocking the Bronze Gate areas.

The Bone Vats and Boneworks

In the western part of the Mine of Mantuban you will find the Bone Vats and the Boneworks. This is the crafting area for the Bonewright profession, one of the five professions available in the Mine of Mantuban. The Bone Vats area has two storage locations for Bones and Timber. This is also where you will prepare various Bones to be used with Timber to be crafted into various weapons for the Guardian class.

The Boneworks is where you will actually use the prepared Bones and Timber to craft into various Guardian Weapons. Any weapons crafted here will level up your Bonewright profession and will also be Untuned, meaning they can be tuned to any of the four zones to be used there.

Stonemasonry Room and Sculpting Room

At the far southern area of the Mine of Mantuban, beyond all the mines where you can mine ores and stone, you will find the Goblin area that also leads to the Stonemasonry and Sculpting rooms. Here you will find storage locations for both Timber and Stone. In the Sculpting Room, you can prepare Stone to be used when crafting.

In the Stonemasonry Room, you can use prepared Stone and Timber to craft weapons for the Hammersmith class. Any weapons crafted here will level up your Stonemason profession and will also be Untuned, meaning they can be tuned to any of the four zones to be used there.

Goblin Workshop and Gnome Forge

Just above the Stonemasonry and Sculpting Rooms, you will find the Goblin Quarters as well as the Goblin Workshop. Inside the Goblin Workshop, you can smelt ores down and then forge them into various weapons using Ingots and Timber to level your Blacksmith profession.

As you progress in your Blacksmith profession you will eventually need to head to the northeast area of Mine of Mantuban to continue Blacksmithing. Throughout your progression of the Blacksmith profession, you will head back and forth between the two crafting areas.

Any weapons forged using Ingots and Timber will be for the Cryoknight class. Any weapons crafted here will level up your Blacksmith profession and will also be Untuned, meaning they can be tuned to any of the four zones to be used there.

Storage Rift Locations

The Mine of Mantuban has two Storage Rift locations which you can access after completing the Spider’s Nest quest in Hopeforest which unlocks access to the Storage Rifts.

The first Storage Rift is located in the western part of the Mine of Mantuban inside a long narrow area called the Mine Cart Tunnel. This tunnel connects the Abandoned Mining Cavern with the Bridge Cavern, and the Storage Rift can beside in the middle of the tunnel.

As for the second Storage Rift, you can find it on the northeast side of the Mine of Mantuban, north of the undeground river. You need to cross the Upper Bridge then head west into the Upper River Bend, then north again into Rockling Cave where you will find the Storage Rift.

Leech Pools and Gassy Grotto

There is a very unique mechanic in the Mine of Mantuban that requires you to fill the crafting tables for Stonemason, Bonewright, and Blacksmith using gas. In order to do this, you will need to head to the west side of Mine of Mantuban to the area called the Leech Pools where you can collect Gas Leeches. Then head east through the Bat Cave, into the Gassy Cave, and then into the Gassy Grotto.

Here you can interact with Gas Vents as long as you have Gas Leeches that will fill them up with gas. Return to the crafting tables and you can interact with tanks connected to them to add the gas to the machines allowing you to use them for crafting. Gas Leeches, filled or not, cannot be stored anywhere, so you will want to collect and fill these as needed.

Mine of Mantuban Obelisk

The Mine of Mantuban Obelisk which can be used to tune any Untuned Gear to the Mine of Mantuban zone, can be found in the middle of the area. From the Mine Entrance, head south down the Mine Cart Tunnel, across the Bridge Cavern, and into the Bat Cave. Continue south to the Andesite Site then head east into the Gassy Cave and north into the Rocky Passage. Continue north into the Big River Cavern then go south into the Mossy Corner that leads to the Tenebrous Tunnel.

East of the tunnel is the Kobold Cavern, before you’ll head north into the Riverside Goblin Cavern. Head east along the underground river to reach the Upstream Gobling Cavern and then the River Bend. Once at the River Bend, head south and you will find the Mine of Mantuban Obelisk.
