SNK is fully geared up for the release of its newest fighting title, Samurai Shodown, crow-barring in the last few character trailers ahead of the game’s official launch this week. These two new videos feature classic character Kyoshiro and one of the game’s all-new superstars, Wu-Ruixiang.

Kyoshiro Senryo made his debut in Samurai Shodown back in 1993. A master of the theatrical art of Kabuki, Kyoshiro catches his opponents off-guard with his bizarre look and movements, before cutting them down with his exceptional naginata skills. Oh, he can also get help from a giant toad…

Wu-Ruixiang joins Darli Dagger and Yashamaru as the third Samurai Shodown debutante. Wu is a defender of the Qing dynasty, charged with protecting generations of ancient writings. Armed with a shield and a clumsy attitude, Wu has a selection of counter-attack specials, and can use her shield to reflect projectiles and even lightning. Wu looks like an interesting and fun fighter, I’m looking forward to trying her out.

Samurai Shodown launches on June 25 for PS4 and Xbox One. PC and Nintendo Switch ports will follow this Winter. You can check out Peter Glagowski’s review right here.
