Here in the USA, the practice of console manufacturers producing packaged bundles for retail is generally reserved for major first-party accessory launches and the winter season where gift exchanging can put their boxes in more homes. In Japan, there seems to be a new bundle or other arriving on a monthly basis.
This go around, Sony has partnered up with Konami on a “Castlevania The Lord of Shadow Value Pack.” As you might guess, the box contains a PS3 (160 GB) and a copy of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. But as a special, added, super-happy funtime bonus, they’ve thrown in a “PS3 The Best” edition copy of Metal Gear Solid 4. All for 37,981 yen (~460 USD).
Nothing really all that special, when it comes right down to it. I wonder, is there a lot of crossover in the audience for those games? I realize that they’re both Konami series but they are radically different. I know I like both, though, so I guess it would make sense for me.
