Already knee-deep in Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network title develpment, Capcom VP Christian Svensson is hinting that that he “fully expects” Capcom to publish WiiWare games in the West.
“WiiWare has some interesting challenges in terms of interface,” he tells Gamasutra. “I wouldn’t say challenges: both challenges and benefits. The controls are different and frankly we’d like to make good use of the Wii Remote. We have a couple of concepts internally that I think would be perfect for Wii, as well as other platforms.”
He also candidly speaks with Gamasutra about the potential for the company to acquire a Western developer saying that they wouldn’t “acquire anyone that [they] haven’t done a game with,” adding that “chemistry is so critical.” Start placing yours bets now — rumors have suggested a Dead Rising sequel is in the hands of a Western developer, and the critically acclaimed Irvine, California-based Ready at Dawn’s port of Okami ships this week.
