Last week saw the launch of season three in Activision’s military shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Along with several weapons, maps and other content, the new download added “Quads” mode to sister title Warzone, bringing four-person squads to the battle royal experience.

However, following negative feedback from fans Activision – alongside developer Infinity Ward – has restored the three-player “Trios” option, which was removed during the same update. While plans were clearly to rotate these modes in and out over time, it appears that fans prefer the freedom of choice. As it stands today, Solo, Trio, and Quad options are all playable in Call of Duty: Warzone, with Duos expected to join the party later in season three.

In related news, Activision has revealed that over 50 million players have checked out Warzone since the free-to-play free-for-all went live back in March. By marrying the high-gloss aesthetic of the Call of Duty franchise with the popular Last Person Standing genre, (and throwing a few unique twists into the mix), Warzone has proven quite the hit among shooter fans.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available to download now on PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
