If you’re a Civ fan pondering buying a copy of Civilization VI, the bad news is that the pre-order deals have dried up as Firaxis puts a halt to discounts across the web. The good news though is that retailers are getting a bit creative to incentivize pre-purchases.

As of writing, Green Man Gaming is offering an interesting proposition when you purchase a copy of Civilization VI Standard or Deluxe. As a pre-purchase bonus, GMG will offer you a unique 20% off coupon code good for select upcoming triple-A games.

New Civilization VI Pre-Purchase Deal

Update: This deal has changed to a straight up discount of 20% off. Must add to cart to see discount.  Content below left for reference for those who got in on the deal.

Titles such as Dishonored 2, Watch Dogs 2, and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Legacy Edition are now as cheap as $37.43 after stacking instant savings with the unique code. Here are some of the titles that qualify and their price after coupon:

  • $37.43 – Battlefield 1
  • $37.43 – Dishonored 2
  • $42.39 – Titanfall 2
  • $42.40 – Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
  • $56.31 – Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Legacy Edition
  • $38.40 – Watch Dogs 2 (and its Gold/Deluxe editions)
  • $39.43 – Steep (and its Gold edition)

If you pick up this Civilization VI deal from GMG, it would only make sense if you are planning to get one of these other games listed above. While the genre is decisively different, the lowered price on any one of these is quite enticing. (E.g., this is probably one of the only places you can pick up the overpriced Infinite Warfare Legacy Edition at a reasonable price of $56.)

Pre-purchasing Civ VI at GMG, whether the Standard or Deluxe, will net you the bonus Aztec Civilization Pack. The Steam key will be delivered to your email inbox or you’ll be able to find it in your GMG account order history page. Pre-load details have not been revealed yet, but GMG will be sending keys out during the pre-load period as per usual.
