brentalfloss loves Banjo-Kazooie, but that shouldn’t come as a surprise. I mean, doesn’t everybody? In his younger, flossier days, he wanted to be a part of Rare’s BK team. Let him explain:
I found some old compositions of mine the other day, and I want to share a few of them with you…
See, when I was a college freshman, I sent some sample mp3s to Rare in the hopes that they’d hire me as the composer for their next Banjo-Kazooie game. They didn’t. How naive I was.
But you can hear the samples I sent anyway!
He was young. We all had — or still have — dreams of working on our favorite games, right?
The first tune, a “Low-Key Interior Theme,” can be heard above. After the break, check out his “Fun Level Theme” and “Spooky Bonus Game Theme,” plus another song called “The Laughing Polka” which wasn’t part of the BK batch but could fit right in. Compare his compositions to the actual game soundtrack and hear for yourself if he nailed the sound.
