Black Ops 6 Zombies reveal trailer brings all the nostalgia with the return of classic features

It’s a great time to be a Call of Duty Zombies fan, with the upcoming return of its classic round-based mode. To top it off, we got an inside look into its gameplay, thanks to the Black Ops 6 Zombies Terminus Reveal trailer.

If you’re an OG Zombies fan, you’ll likely recognize a ton of iconic features, from Gobblegums to the all-powerful Ray Gun. There’s also a quick little sneak peek of the Jet Gun’s epic comeback, which first appeared in TranZit. This Wonder Weapon was a marvel in its hay day, sucking up zombies to deal a gnarly blow.

We got to see a few perks in action, with the likes of the traditional PhD Flopper. However, the trailer gave us a taste of something entirely new, showcasing the Melee Macchiato perk. This unique ability replaces the gun butt attack with a brutal punch, making it easier to knock down zombies.

The trailer then continues on with the nostalgia train, featuring the Mystery Box and the Monkey Bomb. It just wouldn’t be the same without these two components, as they have been a part of the franchise since its origins. Even more so, the video concludes with the soundtrack of the OG Zombies mode to further the hype. Hearing that sound is music to my ears, bringing back all the memories I had when it first launched.

Although Black Ops 6 Zombies promises to return many classic features, it’ll still feel incredibly different with Call of Duty’s newest mechanics. The dynamic Omnimovement will undoubtedly change up the game, offering more distinct maneuvers like sidestepping and backpedaling. There also seems to be a new Gobblegum that provides a Wonder Weapon automatically, which will certainly come in handy.

The only difficult part now is the wait, given that Black Ops 6 won’t arrive until late October. Fortunately, there are a few events on the horizon, including the Call of Duty Next event on Aug. 28. Don’t forget to also tune into the beta, getting you an early start to the undead adventure.
