While there hasn’t been any significant issue on the technical side, some users have reported problems faced by gameplay crashes. These issues have almost entirely occurred on the PC side. While my journey so far has been smooth on the hardware side, I even encountered occasional crashes on my system (although my hardware is well-equipped in terms of the required specs).

Thankfully, there are a few tips and tricks you can try to reduce the incidences of these crashes.

How to prevent Call of Duty Black Ops 6 from crashing

Usually, crashes happen when the software fails to gather the resources required for it to function correctly. Now, this can occur due to different reasons, so make sure to try out all these methods if the first few ones don’t solve your problem.

  • Internet connectivity: If you’re playing on the PC Pass, you need to be always connected to the internet. If your internet connectivity is lost, your mission will automatically end (assuming you were playing Campaign; Zombies and Multiplayer will end in DC). When that happened to me, the client immediately crashed.
  • Borderless window: Instead of running on fullscreen, try to play Call of Duty Black Ops 6 with the Borderless Window turned on. This is even more helpful if you have two or more displays connected, as you’ll be able to scroll your mouse pointed without having to press alt+tab every time. You can turn on Borderless Window from the main menu.
  • Update your graphics driver: Perhaps the most overlooked cause of crashes in video games. Ensure that your graphics drivers are updated to the latest build.
  • Put a cap on FPS: Regardless of the preset you might be using, put a cap on the FPS. This prevented crashes when I was testing out the beta. You can set it at 90 FPS, which doesn’t compromise much in terms of competitive advantage against your opponents.

Additionally, make sure to always update your Call of Duty Black Ops 6 client to the latest available version. If you’re on Steam, running a file integrity verification routinely, especially after a new version has been downloaded, is also advisable.
