Best WoW addons for Season of Discovery

I'll only play Classic if it's modded to Hell and back.

I think we can all admit that despite our fondness for World of Warcraft Classic, it’s a little rough around the edges.

Addons have been around since the beginning and bring about a lot of functionality and quality of life that isn’t there otherwise. With that in mind, let’s look at the best addons for Season of Discovery.

For simplicity’s sake, each of these mods can be found in CurseForge. Type the name into the search bar, select Classic as your version, and away you go.

The must-have mods for World of Warcraft Season of Discovery

Auctionator

As with many addons in this list, WoW Retail took a lot of inspiration and added Auctionator’s functionality into the base game. This handy addon allows players to scan the auction and get pricing, allowing them to track the best deals for items and exploit the market like a venture capitalist. Auctionator removes the headache of manually searching and will even show average prices for items in your bag, helping you decide if an item sparks joy or not.

Bagnon

I don’t know what I did without Bagnon. I always figured bags were a straightforward concept. Oh, how very wrong I was. Bagnon simplifies bags and allows you to configure them every which way you want. Throw in a search feature and sorting and I’m in Bastion.

Leatrix Maps (Classic Era)

Whether you’re new to WoW in Season of Discovery or you’re a longtime player coming back, Leatrix Maps is an absolute must. Not only does it remove all of those annoying blank spaces that haven’t been explored, but it also provides exceptionally handy coordinates, which are almost the guaranteed response to “Where is X?” in chat.

Questie

In Season of Discovery, players are forced to go back to the old system of required reading of quests to figure out where their objective is. Questie says “Aw, hell naw!” to that and straight up shows you not only where your objectives are, but other quests, pathing, and more. Take all of that guesswork out and save yourself some precious time with this addon.

Narcissus Classic

Narcissus Classic isn’t so much a necessity as it is a fun camera to show your character off on their adventures. The Group Photo mode allows you to frame shots with quite literally any NPC in the game while the item viewer is a great way to show off your gear with a slick UI.

Details! Damage Meter

I’m personally not a fan of damage meters, but I completely understand their importance in improving rotations and adding some friendly competition during instances and raids. Details! Damage Meter is a highly customizable version of that and my go-to when I’m feeling feisty.

Deadly Boss Mods (DBM)

If you’ve ever raided in any version of Classic or even Retail, then you knew Deadly Boss Mods was going to show up on this list. Quite simply, it is an incredibly useful addon for learning and mastering raid mechanics through announcements and more.

HealBot Continued

While they’re not active in Season of Discovery just yet, the larger raids of Molten Core and Blackwing Lair will put 40 players’ lives in your hands. Even with smaller raid groups for the reworked Blackfathom Deeps, HealBot Continued puts all of the required information up in an easy-to-read fashion and takes the headache out of keeping people cleansed and topped up on health.

MoveAny (Edit Mode, Windows and Ui)

One of the greatest additions to Retail was being able to customize the UI. In being true to its roots, Season of Discovery does away with that and you’re left with a rough, yet functional, UI. MoveAny brings about a host of customization options and is one of the greater quality-of-life features. You’d be surprised at how much a custom-tailored UI improves a game.

Pawn

Thanks to the rune system in Season of Discovery, players are encouraged to try out new classes. With that can come a lot of guesswork as to gear and upgrades. Pawn removes all of that uncertainty with clear item comparisons and analysis for each subclass.

LFG Group Bulletin Board

Ah, the good ol’ days of sitting in a major city and watching chat scroll like a weather channel in the 90s to find a group. LFG Group Bulletin Board parses all of that data and puts it in a live window that is organized in such a way as to make finding your next group easier than swiping left or right.
