Best weapon loadout for beginners in Ready or Not

Ready or Not 1.0 brings some sweeping balance changes to the weapons in the tactical FPS. Whether you’re brand new to the SWAT simulator, or returning after some time, you want to have a solid loadout. After playing through most of the missions, this is without a doubt the best weapon loadout for beginners in Ready or Not.

What is the best loadout in Ready or Not?

First off, some missions will be easier with a certain loadout. While this is overall the best weapon loadout for beginners, certain missions may benefit from using a different piece of equipment. Usually, by the time this really matters, you will have a better grasp of how Ready or Not plays so you can make the appropriate changes. However, here is the best weapon loadout for beginners:

• Primary Weapon: MK18 or GA416 (Assault Rifles)
  • Optic: Overall this is a player preference, but I recommend the MICROT2.
  • Muzzle: SOCOM Suppressor
  • Underbarrel: Combat Grip
  • Overbarrel: M600V Flashlight
• Sidearm: USP45 (Pistol)
  • Optic: None
  • Muzzle: Obsidian Suppressor
  • Underbarrel: Laser Pointer
• Armor: Heavy Armor
  • Material: Ceramic
  • Coverage: Front/Back
• Tactical Gear
  • Long Tactical: Typically mission-based. Typically though I recommend the Mirrorgun to check areas before breaching and entering, or the M320 Gas to neutralize groups of enemies.
  • Headwear: Ballistic Mask

When should you change your loadout?

In my experience, it’s hard to go wrong with the MK18 and GA416 Assault Rifles. These weapons have the ability to quickly neutralize and render an enemy incapable. They also give you the added medium and long range over some other weapon choices, for those specific situations. However, if you know you are going to be in a closed-quarters with a lot of enemies, you can always switch to an SMG like the P90 or even a shotgun like the Supernova or M1014.

The USP45 packs a nice punch while remaining super accurate, so I recommend it in most situations as your sidearm.

As you get used to playing Ready or Not, you could switch out from the Heavy Armor. However, for beginners, it’s definitely the best option as it allows you to take more hits than the other armor types.

The same can be said for your Long Tactical and Headwear. Once you get more comfortable, you can switch those out for other options that may enhance your experience on a specific mission.
