You have a good array of options when it comes to combat, but if you’re looking for the best Starfield has to offer, you won’t go wrong with the Abyss Trekker. This guide will explain where to grab the Abyss Trekker and how to upgrade it to be even deadlier.

The Abyss Trekker is easily one of the best ships in the game. This monster of a ship has the following stats:

  • PAR – 38
  • MSL – 96
  • BAL – 162
  • SHIELD – 850

There are some downsides to the ship. Most notably, it specializes in combat and is good at very little else. Its measly cargo capacity of 340 will be sure to stress any space explorer.

You should be aware that it’s a Class C ship, so you’ll have to acquire adequate Piloting skills from your skill tree first before you can command it. To learn how to acquire the ship, consult this detailed guide. It is a pricey ship, so you better have your credits saved up.

Once you have the ship in your possession, you can modify it to be even better. As you’d imagine, this all begins with the weapons. Find a technician and grab the following parts:

  • Atlatl 270c Missile Launcher – Stroud-Eklund in Neon
  • PBO-300 Auto Alpha Turret – Stroud-Eklund in Neon
  • Vanguard Starseeker Pulse Laser – New Atlantis Spaceport (after joining the UC Vanguard)

For protection, purchase and equip the Assurance SG-1900 Shield Generator. You’ll also want to consider adding a Comspike to your ship. It cuts down the time required to lock onto a target, though you’ll need to play through the Crimson Fleet missions to acquire it.

With your ship ready, you’ll have nothing to fear as you explore the Settled Systems. If you want to boost your space combat skills, hit up the flight simulator in the MAST building in New Atlantis.
