Best Sanhua build in Wuthering Waves – weapons, Echoes, and team compositions

Check out a build sure to freeze all opponents in the spot.

As on of the best sub-DPS/supports in Wuthering Waves, Sanhua shines given her high Resonance Skill damage and ability to offer a massive 38% Basic Attack DMG Deepen buff with her Outro Skill.

While her buff is already enough to skyrocket your party’s damage, knowing how to build her takes that even further. To make the most of your new support, here’s the best Sanhua build in Wuthering Waves.

Best weapons for Sanhua in Wuthering Waves

Like most sword users in Wuthering Waves, the best weapon for Sanhua is by far the 5-star Emerald of Genesis. The weapon is the complete package and will offer her a 24.3% Crit Rate increase once at level 90. Emerald of Genesis also provides a 12.8% Energy Regen boost and allows you to buff her ATK through her Resonance Skill. All of the values here are related to the weapon at Rank 1.

Best 4-Star and F2P alternatives

Although the lack of a 4-star sword with a Crit substat is disappointing, the best 4-star alternative for Sanhua is Commando of Conviction. The weapon works well thanks to its high base attack and ATK% substat. Commando of Conviction will also allow you to further boost Sanhua’s ATK by 15% after performing her Intro Skill (R1).

Using the craftable Sword#18 can also work, as the weapon boasts the same overall ATK as our top 4-star. Both picks can be acquired for free within the game. To recap, here are the best weapons for Sanhua:

Weapon NameSecondary StatRationale
Emerald of Genesis (Best in Slot)Crit Rate%High Crit Rate value, ER boost, and high overall ATK stat.
Commando of ConvictionATK%Massive ATK boost (for a 4-star)
Sword#18 (Craftable)ATK%Offers the same ATK as Commando of Conviction, if we exclude the latter’s passive.

Best Sonata and Echoes for Sanhua

The best Sonata for Sanhua in WuWa is a full Moonlit Clouds set. The full set will offer her a 10% Energy Regen boost and will add a 22.5% ATK buff to her Outro Skill effect. Echo-wise, I recommend going with Impermanence Heron as your main in a one Overlord, two Common, and two Elites composition. Impermanence Heron is vital here given their ability to provide energy and add a 12% DMG boost effect to Sanhua’s Outro Skill.

Best Echo Stats and substats

Main stat-wise, I recommend that you go with Crit Rate for your main echo. This is a must, as you will need to raise the stat to at least 50% to deliver steady amounts of meaningful damage. For the remaining spots, go with two ATK and two Glacio DMG Bonus echoes. When talking substats, focus on Crit Rate, Crit DMG, ATK, and Energy Regen.

Are Sanhua’s Resonance Sequences a must?

Although not a must, those looking to awaken Sanhua’s full potential might want to prioritize getting her fifth Resonance Chain node. When unlocked, the node will increase the Crit DMG of her Ice Burst effect by 100% and allow all ice creations to detonate without the need for her Heavy Attack. This is game-changing, as Sanhua has her vulnerability while performing the attack as her biggest weakness.

Best teams for Sanhua

The best team for Sanhua in Wuthering Waves features her as its main offensive support/sub-DPS, either Verina or Baizhi as its healer, and a main DPS reliant on their basic attacks. My main picks for the role would be the Havoc Rover, Encore, or Lingyang —the latter of which is my premier choice.

This team’s rotation will revolve around first performing Sanhua’s Liberation, her Skill, and then her Echo Skill. If her Concerto gauge is full, we will then follow up by tagging in our main DPS and making full use of her buffs to deal massive DMG. If you have unlocked Sanhua’s first Resonance Chain node, performing a quick 5-hit combo before using her skill will allow you to make full use of her 15% Crit Rate boost.
